FAQs about Master Scholarship Accounts
Can we set up a Master Scholarship Account online?
Because Master Scholarship Accounts require pre-approval from the GET Director, they cannot be completed online. You may download a Master Scholarship Enrollment Form during our open enrollment period (November 1 - May 31) from our Web site or call us.
Once you set up your account, you may designate an individual in your organization to have online access to information about your account. Contact Customer Service for further information.
How do we make contributions to our account?
You can send a check when you submit your Master Scholarship Enrollment Form. After your account is established, you will receive coupons for making future contributions. Other payment options also are available, such as automatic bank withdrawals (ACH) or on-line fund transfers. Call us for details.
Your organization can send contributions at any time. The GET Program may adjust the unit price on May 1 and September 1 of every year.
How do I change the Authorized Representative on our account?
To change the Authorized Representative, we must receive a request on company letterhead with the signature of the Authorized Representative on file with GET. In instances where the current Authorized Representative is no longer available to sign, the request may be signed by a company officer or authorized representative as listed in your annual report to the Secretary of State.
When are the GET units in our account eligible for use?
As stated in the GET Master Agreement, each unit must be held for a minimum of two calendar years before use.
When do we have to name a student beneficiary?
You do not need to name a student beneficiary until after your organization awards the scholarship. Please complete a Master Scholarship Transfer Form for each student beneficiary at least four months before the student is expected to use the GET units.
What if the student beneficiary has another GET account?
If a student is named as a beneficiary of another GET account, the total number of units in all of the student's GET accounts cannot exceed 500.
