What units are worth

• 2011-2012 academic year: 1 GET unit is worth $102.23 (payout value effective August 1, 2011)

Begin using units to pay for college

• Account owners:  Log in to your account. If you've forgotten your User ID and Password, click here for help or call us at 1.800.955.2318.

• Select "Use Your GET Units."

• Follow these three easy steps:

               Step 1:  Review your account

               Step 2:  Tell us where your student is going to college by July 1

               Step 3:  Choose your payment option - Available August 1

• To have GET pay the school directly submit a Direct Payment Request form
• To have GET reimburse you for out-of-pocket expenses, submit a Reimbursement Request form
• Please allow two weeks for payment processing

The above forms are all accessible online when you are logged in to your account. If you prefer to submit paper forms click here.  

Reminders for using units:

• Pay tuition, room and board, books and other qualified expenses.

• Students are eligible to use up to 125 units per year plus any rollover units from the year prior.

• If you are getting reimbursed for the previous academic year you must fill out a paper form.

• Whenever you withdraw funds, GET will send you a 1099-Q form the following January. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about the 1099-Q form.

FAFSA information:

• A GET account is considered an asset of the account owner, generally the parent, in determining financial aid eligibility.
